Gale V2 Jacket

I find myself reaching for this jacket almost daily, especially on windy days, cloudy days or even when it’s sunny and hot. It blocks wind nicely, and on sunny days it keeps the sun off me without feeling like a sticky wet layer clinging to my skin. Fabric is wonderful: light, soft with a nice “feel”- and not noisy/crinkly. Zipper works smoothly, and the hood fits easily over, and works with, a runner’s hat. Appreciate having 5 POCKETS, especially the drop-in slot pockets on the inside. The only drawbacks for me are that I wish the exterior pockets had zipper closures, and that the interior slot pockets did not have the small opening at the bottom (not a problem if gloves were stuffed in there, but a small item such as a stick of lip balm may fall out). The hidden inner pocket (on the left side) has the same snap closure that the exterior pockets have. The elasticized cuffs fit well, yet still are easy enough to pull over a Garmin watch. I’ve only had it a couple weeks so I can’t say how it will hold up to repeated washings, or if it will snag or pill. I had a hard time choosing between the gray or blue print, but ended up choosing the gray print, I wear an XS or S in women’s Patagonia Houdini jackets, and the Gale V2 unisex size XXS is a comparable fit on me. (No option to choose XXS in the categories below, so I had to go with XS.)

It is to small for me. Live and learn, when I saw the size chart, I should have canceled... It made a great Christmas present for my niece.
