W's Helios Cropped Pants

Okay maybe these aren’t “joggers”(?), but I’m generally a tights 24/7 type and while I’ve always been intrigued by this style of pant, they’ve always been super unflattering on me. I’m shopping for an upcoming backpacking trip, though, for which I wanted some non tights pants to travel and hike in so “things can breathe”. At this clearance price, I decided to risk trying these, even though they aren’t returnable. I don’t care much about “flattering” on the the trail. I was surprised that they are uncomfortable and really fairly flattering. They dry super quickly, something I noticed while hiking in Oregon last week, getting very sweaty. They also don’t tend to wrinkle which is great. These are a great casual or traveling pant. My issues for which I took off a star: I like the fabric but it also does have a somewhat plasticky feel and makes swish noises as you ambulate; the fabric doesn’t pass the non stink test after several wearings as well as the Trailblazer tee even though they both have that claim; I really wish these were longer—being not-tall, I’d hoped the models were tall and these would fit longer but they don’t and they even have a tendency to ride up as you move. For my intended purpose of backpacking in the wilderness, I don’t want skin on my legs exposed due to bugs and brush. So, while I’d love to order another pair for my trip, I’m not sure I will due to the cropped length alone. Since they flat out state they are cropped, I didn’t take any stars off for that,…
