Great lightweight jacket

I bought the Gale VS Jacket a couple of months ago as a pocketable, take anywhere jacket and it is great. The material is really good, it is very well made, and it is amazingly light, scrunching up to pocket size. The spec is also really good, with some extremely useful features. Size wise, I am 5' 9" and would normally be a medium so that is what I bought. As a lightweight, three season jacket and worn over a T shirt or a thinner sweater, I'd say the size is about right. If worn over a thicker winter weight fleece, it is a bit 'fitted', but then I don't think it is intended to be a winter coat. I haven't tried it in the rain but it's not sold as waterproof anyway. It feels like it would probably resist light drizzle though. Now if Seadon ever come up with a fully waterproof version of this jacket, I'll be first in line to get one! In the meantime, I am happy with this one.

Follow-up After 10 months

After 10+ mths of running, hiking, etc., gotta say I still love the fit and feel of the fabric. Lots of time on the AT w/ no snags, tears, etc. Only semi-suggestion would be to modify the front pocket closures - cause, they don’t! Can’t really keep any valuables in them - flaps aren’t overlapped enough to stay closed. (Can clearly see this w/ the guy on the boat on the opening page.) Also, sorry, still laugh w/ the women’s zipper - only piece of men’s clothing I own w/that funky zip - I have the Seadon hiking pants, curious as to why they’re normal men’s zip? Anyway, overall, has worn well for almost a year.

Thank you for leaving us this detailed review, Ken! We're glad you are still loving the jacket and using them a lot. It's what we like to hear! Noted the feedback and we will for sure take this into account for our next version. The reason we did not put zippers on there was to keep the jacket as light as possible, but we'll try and find a solution in the future. Thank you for your support. We appreciate it! -Carson, Founder.
